Innovative Heat Recovery System at ArcelorMittal
We are pleased to announce the completion of the heat recovery system project at the ArcelorMittal Poland plant in Dąbrowa Górnicza.
The installed heat exchangers recover energy from exhaust gases with an average temperature of 250°C, which is then redirected into the technological process. This allows for the preheating of fuel gas and air to approximately 180°C, bringing measurable benefits:
✅ Reduction of CO2 emissions by 56,000 tons annually,
✅ Energy recovery of 117 GWh per year,
✅ Decrease in coke consumption by 10,000 tons annually.
As Mostostal Zabrze Realizacje Przemysłowe S.A., serving as the General Contractor, we had the pleasure of participating in this investment, which aligns perfectly with the modernization of industrial processes, energy transition, and ESG strategies. The project was implemented in an off-balance model, enabling the installation without requiring the investor’s own financial resources.
We would like to thank our partners: E.ON EIS Polska for their trust and for entrusting us with the role of General Contractor, as well as all other partners for their constructive cooperation in executing this strategic project. More details and photos from the project can be found in the original publication here.
