Challenges for the global iron and steel industry in the face of the need to reduce CO2 emissions were the theme of the 8th ECIC European Coke and Ironmaking Congress and 9th ICSTI International Conference on Science and Technology of Ironmaking in Bremen, Germany, from 29 August to 2 September. We could not miss it!
During the Conference, representatives of the largest companies and key equipment suppliers from the ironmaking and coke-making industry were brought together at the exhibition area to present their technological assumptions for the production of zero-emission steel and the further use of production waste. The concepts presented during the Conference looked impressive and very ambitious. We are keeping our fingers crossed for their implementation of the ideas as soon as possible.
The conference was also an excellent opportunity to exchange experiences, make new business contacts, and have many interesting discussions with i.a.: Paul Wurth, Primetals Technologies, thyssenkrupp, HKM, Danieli Corus, ArcelorMittal, Salzgitter AG, SMS group GmbH.
